What Is A Hall Effect keyboard?

The Hall effect is the production of a potential difference (the Hall voltage) across an electrical conductor that is transverse to an electric current in the conductor and to an applied magnetic field perpendicular to the current. It was discovered by Edwin Hall in 1879. Hall Effect Keyboard uses this effect on switches. Hall effect keyboards use Hall sensors to detect keystrokes. Whenever a key is pressed, the magnet moves, thus changing the distribution of the magnetic field around it. The Hall sensor senses this change and generates a corresponding electrical signal that triggers the key.

What's So Special About Hall Effect Keyboard?

With such technology of magnetic switch,  what is the advantange of HE keyboard?

Durability

Imagine using a keyboard for 4 or 5 years. With excellent trigger speeds since it doesn’t rely on physical contact points. A Hall effect keyboard could be very durable. Chronos 68 magnetic keyboard can take 100 million times’ press. Which makes it really long time lasted.

Speed

For serious gamers that need to take every advantage to win the battle, a millisecond may not directly lead to an advantage, but it makes a big difference in your control feel. Hall effect trigger keyboard improves it by improving precision, comfort, and control. The trigger point is adjustable for the hall effect keyboard, so it could act in 0.01s as you trigger the switch. With a very high polling rate, it creates ultimate control feeling. Hall Effect keyboards are perfect for players who value fast response and long-lasting performance.

Multi Funcional

The hall effect keyboard is the best choice in terms of speed and durability. But is it multi-functional enough to cover gamers' needs? Chronos 68 has been a good example with snap tap technology, super tag and programmable macros for seamless multitasking.

How’s HE Keyboard’s Typing Feeling?

HE keyboard’s fast, durable, and precise. But how does it actually feel when typing and working? Truth be told, most hall effect feels unsatisfactory when typing. A hall effect keyboard is too smooth pressing, no sound, no stops, always feels like it lacks of confirm feeling. But I think it’s worth bringing out that Syntech’s hall effect keyboard Chronos 68, brings the traditional mechanical feeling and HE advantage together with its type mode. You can quickly bring up the software interface or switch between different game profiles. Easily fine-tune key mappings, actuation settings, and macros via the intuitive app or web interface.
